Economics, GIS, Georeferencing I have been blessed with mentors in my career who have been instrumental in my academic and personal growth. As a mentor, I try to pay this kindness forward.

I consider the mentor-mentee venture successful if the mentee can look back and identify personal and professional growth from the start to the end of the project. Challenges and failure are part of growth. I stive to support my mentees as they work through these obstacles, offering a safe environment to try, fail, and learn. While I value the acquisition of technical skills like learning new software, I place higher value on learning “soft skills” like time management, goal setting, and communication.

As a mentor, I am not a taskmaster handing projects down the chain. Instead, I help provide the environment and tools for the mentee to become a fellow researcher. This creates a two-way dynamic where both parties grow as they cooperate toward a shared goal. While I share my experience with my mentees, I learn from their perspective and experience. This requires and engenders mutual respect.

Because each mentee is different, I treat my mentees as individuals who have different needs for support as they grow into a researcher themselves. I welcome mentee feedback on how to create a mentoring relationship that best meets their needs. I seek to be a peer mentor by practicing the same traits I find admirable in my own mentors: clear communication, empathy, flexibility, forgiveness, honesty, kindness, self-reflection, and understanding.

Through this project, the mentees will be involved in hands-on experimental research about preparing and testing UHPC, observing and documenting the crack patterns, and measuring the corrosion. By embracing these tasks, mentees gain a comprehensive perspective on UHPC's behavior, contributing not only to their personal growth but also to the advancement of materials science and engineering as a whole. The students will work closely with the faculty and graduate student mentors, who will share their experiences with the students to facilitate their learning experience. The students will also have opportunity working with other graduate students in the research group, attending the group meetings, and be included in the related publications if applicable. This will give the students a full research experience.

I am excited to introduce this fact to my students. For students coming from other fields, it provides motivation for learning the mathematics. And, for students more knowledgeable about mathematics, it provides an exciting arena for applications of mathematical theory. Working at the crossroads of biology, social science, and mathematics, I strive to make theory engaging and accessible to students coming from different backgrounds. I think that the intrinsic multidisciplinarity of the field is a strength in captivating students. I am enthusiastic about sharing the relevance and scope of theory: how it has and can address our questions, and its applications to and impacts on society. Though most students will not likely take a scientific career, the tools of scientific inquiry, mathematical problem solving, and modelling will be useful throughout their lives.

It is important to find a topic that interests both the mentee and mentor. Since my interests are varied, I work with my mentees to find a topic that they are passionate about and capable completing. The projects can vary a great deal in the amount of mathematics and coding required. Students likely will not have all the required skills. However, if they are willing, I can teach them anything they may be missing. Interest and work ethic are key to success.

In recent months, the emergence of ChatGPT has captured the attention of many. As a musician, my consideration is around the ways in which ChatGPT will reshape and influence our approach to music study. I firmly believe that humanity's adaptability to and utilization of these evolving technologies are of utmost importance.
For students, when provided with tools such as ChatGPT, it becomes significant for them to grasp the significance of leveraging these tools and transforming them into potent aids. The ability to master new technologies and effectively integrate them, particularly when incorporated into personal independent study, is indispensable to both students' careers and their overall lives.
This project is open to all major students, acknowledging that music is an integral part of everyone's life. This universality implies that each one of us has the potential to become a musician. I hope this project will help people to build their personality stronger, and help them face to the new challenges bravely in the future.

Faculty Nursing Institute on Digital Health and Innovation Matthew Rosso Technology Based Interventions to Address the HIV Prevention and Care Continuum No 2 Nursing Digial Health, HIV, adolescents and young adults, Interventions I have a long-standing commitment to training; all my researcher projects have involved mentees. As a result, I am aware of the importance of goal setting, periodic evaluation of milestone progress, and frequent communication. I have mentored >50 medical, graduate, postgraduate students, and new faculty, four of whom I have successfully mentored through their postdoctoral training and into Assistant Professor positions.
Within IDHI students actively participate in ongoing research projects, contributing to data collection and analysis activities. I believe in learning by doing. As such, primary training mechanisms that I use with mentees – include involving them in research studies at each phase – from planning through publication and dissemination. This includes working with them to carve out pieces of projects that they can take the lead on as well as ways in which they can play a more supportive, “trainee” role for project elements they may be less familiar with. Aside from traditional research assistant duties, IDHI students are offered the opportunity to first-author manuscripts, facilitate community discussions, or present at a national conference based on data from ongoing projects.. This approach has been extremely successful as a professional development vehicle for my students and staff.

4) Encourage independent-learning and intellectual curiosity. While I provide educational resources to my students, I also encourage students to learn independently, seek resources, and develop an intellectual curiosity that will serve them if they pursue graduate coursework.

5) Meet a student where they are at. I am a queer, first-generation college graduate and I understand how those identities and experiences impacted me as an undergraduate student. I strive to meet my students where they are at in regard to identity or experience with the understanding that we all come from different backgrounds which may impact the ways we experience academic endeavors including power structures within academia.

I take advantage of teaching opportunities to provide up-to-date knowledge rooted in culturally sensitive learning styles, evidence-based practice, and real-life clinical experiences to deliver the best inclusive environment conducive to developing critical thinking skills. My teaching style is interactive, including technology, dialogue, faculty-student collaboration, and peer-to-peer interaction to engage all learners. Students learn concepts from a shared, collaborative point of view. This includes peer-to-peer evaluations and group case-study presentations aimed at shattering silos and fostering inclusion and cohesion. Yes Yes Yes Yes

My main mentoring goal is to provide mentees with innovative learning techniques and research experiences that nurture their growth into lifelong learners and successful leaders. To achieve this, my mentoring philosophy emphasizes being prepared, honest, and collaborative. For my mentees, I channel my efforts into honing my research skills and assessing my research performance by engaging in idea sharing, consulting with fellow professionals, and constantly refining my approach. I am dedicated to ensuring efficient learning for my mentees within the UPOP Research Mentor Project Program. To fulfill this objective, I will bring a positive attitude, unwavering commitment, and a focus on professional development, all of which are highly valued traits among mentees in the program. These attributes collectively equip me to be well-prepared for my research role. Outlined below are examples of my past and ongoing research endeavors, along with my future aspirations in the field of product development and sustainability. My research goals encompass:
• Bridging the gap between well-designed academic findings and practical effectiveness in real-world usage, particularly within the domains of sportswear, functional clothing, and the fashion industry.
• Crafting functional products like sportswear, gloves, and protective clothing tailored for disabled and elderly individuals, athletes, and workers exposed to hazardous environments.
• Exploring and evaluating various materials to design wearable products.
