This included exploring how people used AI, their beliefs about it, and how it appeared in casual, daily encounters. While I am not currently involved in a research project, I am interested in pursuing an direct individual study under my second major in the College of Social Work in the future, with a focus on topics that align more closely with my interests in working with adolescents and understanding the impact of lived experiences. | In addition to my research experience through UROP, I presented my research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium and was selected to speak about my research by the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences during my time in UROP. | How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader? | As a UROP Leader, I want my students to feel like they belong in research spaces, even before they feel fully confident in their abilities. I know how it feels to step into something new and question yourself, so I want to be intentional in creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, being honest about what they don’t understand, and growing through that process. I hope to guide my students in developing not only research skills, but also confidence in how they think, communicate, and present themselves. More than anything, I want them to leave knowing that research is something they are capable of, not something reserved for a certain type of student. | I am currently on the Pre-Physician Assistant track, with a strong interest in women’s health and working with adolescents who have been impacted by traumatic events in their lives. I am involved with DREAM Inc., previously served as a 2025 Orientation Leader for New Student & Family Programs, and I am currently serving as Miss Mu Epsilon of the Mu Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.. I am also a member of the National Society of Black Women in Medicine and the Pre-Physician Assistant Society. |

Menopause is a large and usually difficult transition in women's lives that is normally accompanied by many negative symptoms. One of the most commonly reported symptoms of menopause is sleep disturbances. Therefore, this study aims to determine if exercise can be used as a non-pharmacological treatment for sleep disturbances in post-menopausal women. To do this, the women in our study were split into either resistance or endurance training, and they wore an Oura ring throughout the study to monitor their objective sleep quality. They also completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to measure their subjective sleep quality. Our study is still ongoing, but we have seen a trend towards increased subjective sleep quality in these women after their 6-week exercise program. | How has UROP impacted your time at FSU? | UROP has been one of my favorite experiences during my time at FSU. In my lab, I have met so many undergraduate and PhD students who have had a profound impact on my life and my love of research. I have been presented with so many wonderful experiences and opportunities through the members of my lab. I love the students and faculty I work with and the research we do in my lab, and I hope to remain a part of this lab until I graduate. I am grateful to UROP for introducing me to my lab and rekindling my love of research. |

We've also co-authored a pedagogical article outlining how our approach could be replicated in curriculums covering similar content. The piece is scheduled for publication in a special issue of Eighteenth-Century Studies, one of the leading journals in the field. I am currently a part of the Research Intensive Bachelor's Certificate (RIBC) Program in Political Science. | How has UROP impacted your time at FSU? | UROP was a crucial part of my transition into FSU, both as a student eager to explore the world of undergraduate research and as an individual hoping to feel acclimated to the larger campus community. I credit much of my smooth adjustment to college - and many of the opportunities I’ve since pursued - to my involvement in UROP. | I am a big reader - thrillers are my favorite! |

I'm interested in how CS and math allow us to understand biological phenomena at a significantly faster rate and deeper level, as well as how it can reveal biological workings that would have been hidden to us otherwise. | I've participated in UROP, the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference (FURC), the Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) at FSU, and the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society Poster Competition! | How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader? | As a UROP leader, I hope to provide my students the support, resources, and opportunities that were limited to me when I was starting in research. My personal experience entering into research was very confusing, stressful, and nerve-racking, mainly due to the fact that I didn't have much guidance or support on how to reach out to professors, how to advocate for myself, how to perform research tasks, and much more. I hope to relieve any of these nuisances that students may face during their entrance into research at FSU by being that support and allowing my students to focus on their growth and research work! | I love playing tennis, trying new foods (fun fact, there's not a single food I would not eat), seeing new places, meeting new people, learning new things, and listening to music! |

We aim to understand how targeted neural modulation can influence cognitive performance which can aid in the treatment of internalizing disorders such as depression and trauma-related conditions. Additionally, I am interested in the application of theoretical models of suicide, with a particular focus on how constructs like negative urgency contribute to elevated suicide risk. Currently, I am completing an honors thesis that investigates the role of negative urgency within high-risk populations. |
I’ve presented at various research conferences sharing my findings and collaborating with like minded individuals. I am also completing an Honors In The Major project. | How has UROP impacted your time at FSU? | Coming into my undergraduate career, I knew I enjoyed research, but I was quite determined to pursue a career in medicine. The transition from high school research to collegiate research was surprisingly smooth, and I was fortunate enough to be paired with one of the most exceptional mentors possible. Through his guidance and the time he dedicated to teaching me as much as he could about his field, I gradually realized that this was where I truly belonged. With the support of UROP, I secured a position in one of my labs and worked my way up to research supervisor. I then joined another lab to further explore my interests and expand my knowledge, and I am currently completing an honors thesis. In conclusion, without UROP, my transition to research would not have been as seamless or fulfilling. | I love sitting in the sun especially by the beach or pool and playing with my kittens! |

The year-long program allowed me to grow as a student, diversified my career options, and let me pursue something I was interested in. It helped me gain so many connections and real-world experience, which has been invaluable to me since finishing my research project. |
