Overall Research Project Description:
This project is a website that merges a podcast series exploring Swan Lake references in streaming tv shows (Ted Lasso, Bridgerton, and the Handmaid's Tale) with examples in popular culture that build on podcast themes: sports, community, love, etc. We'll select engaging examples from popular culture to highlight core ideas, design the look of the website (using Wix--really fun and easy!), and create visual materials--infographics, social media posts, flyers, and more--to accompany the project. Part of the project also dives into archival research about personal ballet histories, and we will consider how best to present that material: layered, interactive maps? Pictures, sounds, and other sensory elements? Historical tidbits? This is a playground.

Research Tasks:
Infographic creation, website resource curation, social media campaign strategizing, promotional material organization, podcast analysis, and creative collaboration around innovative project development.

Mentoring Philosophy:
I work collaboratively and value agency for each individual participant. Instead of a "sink or swim" approach, my aim is to create a supportive environment wherein we are accountable for our work and our humanity. We take intellectual risks together, co-create knowledge, and learn from each other while developing our unique strengths. Finally, I believe that fun is critical to rigorous learning!
