overall_research_project_description: 'Micelles are self-assembled structures formed from collections of surfactant molecules and are present in detergents, lotions, drug formulations, and more. Despite their ubiquity, the dynamics of how these structures arrive at their final equilibrium state is still not well understood. This project seeks to carry out molecular dynamics simulations utilizing the FSU High Performance Computing cluster to explore at the microscopic level the frequency of certain rare events such as micelle fission and fusion, as well as direct micelle sorption to an interface.'
