Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. : How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader?
Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided.:
As a UROP leader at Florida State University, I hope to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel confident exploring research for the first time. I want to help students understand that research is not just about getting the “right” answer, but about asking meaningful questions, thinking critically, and growing through the process.
I aim to make research feel approachable by breaking down complex concepts and connecting them to real-world applications, especially in health and human development. I also hope to mentor students in developing essential skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, which will benefit them beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, I want my students to leave the program feeling more confident in their abilities and more curious about the world around them. Whether they continue in research or pursue other paths, I hope their experience in UROP empowers them to seek out opportunities, advocate for themselves, and believe in their potential.
