What is your current research focus?:
As an undergraduate research assistant at FSU’s Complementary Health Innovation Lab (CHIL), I am interested in patient-centered approaches to managing chronic disease. My current research focuses on the applications of complementary therapies for improving patient comfort, well-being, and satisfaction. I am especially excited by the potentially large-scale, low-cost applications of complementary therapies in clinical practice. A two-time IDEA Grant Awardee and a former UROP mentee at CHIL, I am currently directing two research projects investigating how mindfulness-based interventions could benefit free clinic patients back home in Orlando.

Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in?:

Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. : How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided.:
As a freshman, I was part of the UROP Program and absolutely loved it. Before participating in UROP, I was unsure if research was something that really interested me. Being part of UROP showed me how diverse the field of research is and helped me find a research project I was super passionate about. I ended up enjoying my time in UROP so much that I decided to get a part-time job working in the same lab I did for my UROP assistantship, and I still work there today. I am really honored to have the opportunity to help mentor students and expand their perspectives on research as a UROP Leader. UROP has opened up so many professional doors for me, from winning an IDEA Grant to presenting at the IM4US Conference, so I am excited to guide students in how to make the most of their UROP experience.

Please list any other hobbies or interests you would like to share:
For the past four years, I have led an online community about American TV shows. I also love learning languages, listening to music, swimming, hiking, and going on nature walks.
