Spring, 2026
Overall, I want to research mental health disorders in psychology and how to effectively treat these disorders. When I was a UROP student, I did research in educational psychology regarding how adolescents process information they see on social media. I am still currently part of this project. I am also a current DIS Student for the Keel Lab, which researches eating behaviors and disorders. I want to combine my two passions in research, which are mental health disorders with children and adolescents. In the future, I hope to conduct research on these topics while hopefully integrating trauma related aspects as well.
I am a current DIS student for the Keel Lab at FSU. This lab deals with eating behaivors and disorders. I started as a DIS student in Fall 2024, and I'm continuing as a DIS student for the remainder of my time at FSU. In the lab, I work with coding interview data in Microsoft Excel, mail prep for participants, coding survey data, and attending lab meetings. In addition to this lab, I'm also still working for the lab that I participated in as a UROP student. This lab deals with educational psychology regarding how teens interpret and seek information online.
How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
UROP has given me the opportunity to become involved in FSU not only with research, but as a future instructor for students. I joined UROP as a student in Fall 2023, and I'm still going to be part of the program when I graduate in Spring 2026. UROP has played a huge role in my personal and professional development. Personally, I have made more connections that I never would have made otherwise. I have grown as a person and as an instructor with my public speaking skills, personal confidence, and networking. Professionally, I have been able to join two different labs as an undergraduate student that will not only prepare me for graduate school, but has further inspired me to continue conducting research. I have been able to gain more skills while working as a member in these labs including interviewing, coding data, collecting data, and organizing data and files. UROP has positively impacted my time at FSU, and I can't picture my time at FSU without it.
I love spending time with my friends, going to the beach back at home, hanging out with my family at home, reading, baking, and going to amusement parks!
