I am especially interested in the neurological effects of screen exposure and the developmental milestones it may delay or disrupt. Additionally, my work explores how socioeconomic and sociocultural factors shape screen time habits, aiming to inform more equitable and effective guidelines for families and healthcare providers. Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in?: In addition to my focus on child development, I am also involved in a research project examining the mental health of first-generation ethnic minority students. Our study explores how experiences of microaggressions contribute to psychological distress and investigates the protective roles of social support systems and mindfulness-based practices. The goal is to identify culturally sensitive strategies that can promote resilience and improve well-being among marginalized student populations. My goal is to help them find a research project that excites them, while making sure they feel confident, capable, and truly welcomed throughout their journey. I aim to create a warm, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome and growth is celebrated, so each student can thrive both academically and personally in their research experience.
