Though I am not currently doing any research, my past researched focus on emergency management and disaster mitigation, primarily focusing on dual disaster resilience with COVID-19 during hurricane season. The overall focus of that project was to better understand collaborative governance in our local, state, and federal governments.
As a former UROP student, I presented the aforementioned research at the 23rd Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.
How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader?
I hope to impact my students as a UROP Leader by facilitating a path for them to discover their future, passions, and interests. My experience as a student in UROP led me to working on a research project that opened my eyes to my current projected career path, and I hope that students can have that same experience. Additionally, I hope to be a resource at Florida State University that they can come too with anything they need help on. Whether it is to help guide them through the class or to get a second opinion on a research question, I hope to be there for students when they need me most.
In my free time, I enjoy discovering new music, watching soccer (Real Madrid and Chelsea on top), playing golf, and finding new places to eat at in Tallahassee!
