I currently assist in investigating Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy in athletes. Our lab is mainly involved in testing the efficacy of FDA-approved drugs for preventing cardiomyopathy in genetically modified mice. I am mainly involved in performing ECGs on the mice, feeding and taking care of them, and performing euthanizing procedures.

How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
It can feel daunting to begin your research journey, especially as a first-year student at a new school. However, UROP served as my stepping stone into the research world. It introduced me to many great research projects and gave me the confidence to pursue them. Furthermore, it provided me with the opportunity to meet my two mentors, who were always willing to give me advice about what classes to take, extracurriculars to get involved in, or research-related involvements to pursue.
I love cooking, going to the beach, playing Spike Ball, and spending time outside.
