What is your current research focus? | My research currently has been focused on Empress Matilda, specifically looking into why she did not become the first queen regnant of England. I am looking into various reasons including gender, military losses, and public perception. My research is drawing on a mixture of primary sources and secondary scholarship. |
Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in? | |
Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. | How has UROP impacted your time at FSU? |
Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided. | I was a UROP student during my freshman year, and I learned so much about how to be an effective researcher. I enjoyed working with my mentor and developing skills in finding and using sources efficiently. My time in UROP solidified for me that I want to continue researching long-term. UROP also exposed me to other opportunities related to research including FURC, which I presented at in Spring 2024. My time in UROP definitely shaped the other experiences I took part in on campus and helped me to realize how much I love research. |
Please list any other hobbies or interests you would like to share | I love reading (especially classics), drawing, and watching movies. |
