  overall_research_project_description: "This project examines communities identified by James Loewen as \"sundown towns,\" communities wherein non-White people were not allowed to live, nor often even be seen. While Loewen's work offers a strong historical analysis of these communities, less is known about those communities today. In our project, we explore—through open-source searching methods—intergroup violence and prejudice, including evidence of hate crimes, non-violent prejudice, and segregation\_ in these places. Our research team uses Discord for co-working, Q&A's, and meetings.\_"
