My current research focus is understanding how viruses reach their replication state within the nucleus of the cell. We observe their mechanistic and structural components during different phases of replication.
As a UROP student, I conducted research in the marine biology department regarding the effects of suspended sediment on the Eastern Oyster population in Apalachicola Bay.
How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
UROP has impacted my time at FSU significantly because it has opened new doors and possibilities in research. I have a new perception on how research is conducted in different fields and the concept of performing research. I have been fortunate enough to experience UROP because it has inspired me on new ways to conduct research and how to guide others on the path to research.
I am currently the programming chair of Phi Delta Epsilon, a volunteer at One More Child Organization, and a Medical Scribe at TMH.
