Research can be done by all students in all majors, and underclassmen can massively contribute to the work being done by labs at FSU even if they haven't had any prior experience. Becoming a researcher isn't about knowing everything about a topic or having a Ph.D. - it's about having the willingness to learn, adapt, and grow! UROP is an amazing experience for students to embark on their research journey with structure and support, and it's been amazing to watch my students develop both their skillsets and their confidence throughout the years.
