My research focus is, broadly, the effects of trauma on a person's mental health and cognitive functioning. My individual UROP project explored the comorbidity of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder and how it may be explained by a cognitive theory using Maladaptive Beliefs as a mediating role.

How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
UROP has made me feel so connected to FSU and academia in a way that no other activity has. My mentor and lab team, as well as the other UROP friends I made along the way, have taught me how what it means to be a driven, focused, and compassionate researcher and peer. I have learned invaluable career, social, and work ethic skills through this process, and am so grateful that it got me started in research.
