What is your current research focus?:
During my participation in UROP, I conducted a study for FSU's Native American and Indigenous Studies pertaining to the Seminoles in the Everglades in the early 1900s. My research was a qualitative causal analysis that focused on activists at this time, and the negative effects their intended help brought upon the Seminoles.
Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in?:
In high school, I also conducted research through the AP Research Capstone classes. In this project, I studied the gender differences of the effects of the "power pose", a confidence-enhancing technique studied by Amy Cuddy and described in her TEDTalk.
Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. : How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader?
Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided.:
As a UROP leader, I hope to impact my students by making the introduction to college-level research as seamless and exciting as possible. I want to be a resource that students can reach out to for support on their research, as well as be able to educate them in a way that both makes them more knowledgeable and also more enthusiastic about research. I want to do my best to make my classroom a positive and uplifting space for students and help them grow into more confident and prepared individuals.
Please list any other hobbies or interests you would like to share:
I love thrifting, any live music events, reading, day trips out of Tallahassee, and the beach! At FSU, I am also a part of the sorority Chi Omega.
