My current research focus has been in American Gothic literature, and my UROP project looked at contemporary African American authors and how they used the gothic to reflect the realities of US infrastructures and systems of oppression. I am also interested in how Queerness intersects with the gothic.
I previously have conducted research in adaptation studies for literature and film.
How has UROP impacted your time at FSU?
UROP helped me see more concretely what research could look like in English at the colligate level. It as opened both new areas of interest and new opportunities to pursue it with faculty in the department.
I spend a lot of my free time watching movies with my friends.
