Project Description
Scientists have found that Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, like ChatGPT, have their own way of using language, including using certain words, like "delve", more often than people usually do. I am interested in why AI models use language this way and what it means. This is important because human language is starting to show signs of being influenced by the way AI uses language. In other words, AI models like ChatGPT are affecting how people use language, but there is a lack of awareness about this issue.Research Tasks: Research assistants will work on studying, labelling, and organising language data, which comes from both AI and people. They are encouraged to explore smaller projects within the main research area, and will receive support and guidance along the way.
Skills that research assistant(s) may need: Recommended: If an assistant knows how to programme or how to analyse language, then that is great. It is okay if assistants are new to programming and/or languages, guidance will be provided. Thus, ...
