| What is your current research focus? | I am currently working on Dr. Wagner's Dyslexia Meta-Analysis project. We conducted this model based meta-analysis to consolidate relevant scientific literature to further strengthen the idea that three predictors of dyslexia- phonological processing impairment, poor response to instruction, and family history of dyslexia are reliable modes of early prediction and diagnosis. |
| Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in? | |
| Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. | How has UROP impacted your time at FSU? |
| Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided. | As a freshman, I knew I wanted to get involved in research, but was not sure how. The thought of cold emailing professors was daunting, and I had no idea what I should include in an email or how to find labs that were taking students. After joining UROP, I learned so much about the research world and found Dr. Wagner's lab, which I love being a part of, and plan to stay with for the rest of my time at FSU! UROP has taught me other skills as well- how to communicate in a professional manner, public speaking, literature reviews, and more! I really enjoy learning so much about a topic outside of the classroom and hope to get involved in more research over the coming years. |
| Please list any other hobbies or interests you would like to share | Outside of school I am also a medical assistant in primary care and volunteer with Americorps, which is part of the Alzheimer's project. |
