  selected_response: 'The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) has connected me with amazing postdoctoral and undergraduate researchers. These invaluable relationships are something I will treasure even beyond the program. Additionally, UROP has provided me with many opportunities to improve my public speaking skills and grow as a person. For example, the CRE fully funded my attendance at the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference at the University of North Florida, where I was able to present my research. Despite being terrified of public speaking, I believe UROP has helped me grow more confident as a person and ultimately supported my step towards a successful and fun time at FSU.'

  what_is_your_current_research_focus_: 'My research focuses on environmental factors influencing reproductive differences between Crassostrea virginica (Eastern oysters) in the Western and Eastern sides of Apalachicola Bay. I used ImageJ software to measure oocyte (female egg) sizes, Microsoft Excel to store oocyte sizes and environmental data, and RStudio to run statistical analyses and create graphs.'
