What is your current research focus?:
My research is conducted through the Webster Lab within the Department of Biological Sciences, where we examine how genetic and environmental variation shape gene expression, epigenetic regulation, and phenotypic outcomes. My work focuses on investigating the effects of peroxisomal gene knockdown using RNA interference (RNAi) and assessing changes in reproductive output. Through this research, I aim to better understand how gene regulation influences fertility, with the broader goal of advancing knowledge in reproductive health and potential therapeutic approaches.

Are there any other research related activities you participate(d) in?:

Answer one of the following two questions about being a UROP Leader or your UROP background. : How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader?
Please answer the question you selected above in the area provided.:
As a UROP Leader, I hope to make research more accessible, less intimidating, and more meaningful for students who may not initially see themselves in a research environment. When I first became involved in research, I quickly realized how overwhelming the process can feel, especially as an underclassman. I aim to guide students as they navigate research while helping them build confidence in scientific thinking, communication, and professionalism. I want to emphasize that research is not just about technical skills, but also curiosity, resilience, and learning from challenges!
