My current research focus is in the Aphasia Research Lab with Dr. Elizabeth Madden, which studies how aphasia affects communication and aims to develop rehabilitation methods for those affected by such acquired language disorders. In addition to this, the Aphasia Research Lab also seeks to determine how relationships are influenced by aphasia.
In my Freshman year, I participated in UROP and worked in the Lemmon Lab with Dr. Alan Lemmon and studied the effect of sympatry on the behavioral, genetic, and neurological divergence of a species of chorus frog (P. feriarum) native to the Southeastern U.S.
How do you hope to impact your students as a UROP Leader?
I would want to make sure that my students understand and value the importance of making mistakes, since they are vital to the learning process. In addition to this, I would also like to emphasize having respect for others and making sure that everyone is treated fairly.
I like learning languages and baking!
