Participating in UROP has been one of the most impactful parts of my time at FSU. Choosing to work one-on-one with a mentor outside my major was a risk that paid off—it gave me a personalized, hands-on research experience that helped me grow both personally and professionally. I developed technical skills like coding for fidelity, improved my digital fluency, and became a more confident communicator, especially through preparing for the UROP Symposium. Most importantly, UROP helped demystify academic research and showed me that faculty are approachable mentors. It’s empowered me to seek out new opportunities and think seriously about continuing research in the future.

In my free time I love traveling, arts & crafts, games, and trying new things.
