Engaging students in research and scholarship is the hallmark of a great research university. Through their participation in research and creative endeavors, undergraduate students become better thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers, cultivating a depth of understanding needed to make a positive difference in the world.
The Florida State University Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement (CRE) is committed to helping students become accomplished scholars and active citizens—people of character who can drive innovation and enrich our society. To that end, the CRE supports the engagement of FSU undergraduates--from every major--in research and creative projects under the mentorship of FSU faculty.
The CRE is leading a growing movement to make undergraduate research and scholarship a core activity of the undergraduate experience at FSU. From supporting faculty and instructors as they include research and creative projects in their courses, to facilitating service-learning and research projects with community-based organizations around the world, from programming to involve underclassmen and historically underrepresented students in research and scholarship , to showcasing the work of student researchers though symposia and publications , the CRE works across the university to enhance the educational engagement of our students and the international reputation of our university.
Whether you are a member of the faculty, staff, or student body, we look forward to having you explore our website, learn more about our office, and participate in one of our many programs!
