You've got questions, we've (probably) got answers!

Is the Julius Scholars Program only open to women?

Any student may apply to be considered for the award; however it is the preference of the donor that the recipient be a female student.

How does the application process work?

Applications for the Julius Scholars program open on August 1 and close December 1. Following the closing date, those applicants chosen to move forward will be invited to participate in interviews that take place in February and March. scholarship offers will go out late March, and prospective scholars will have until May 1 to accept or decline their place in the cohort.

I am graduating high school with enough credits to enter college as a sophomore, or maybe a junior. Do I have to complete all four years to receive the scholarship?

We understand that many interested students will be in this situation. We are passionate about scholar development, and the experiences that can come from being with us for four years. Scholars may perhaps take on a second major or degree program or begin a combined bachelor's and graduate program.

Is the Julius application part of the FSU application, or is it a separate application?

The Julius application is separate from the FSU Admissions application.

What happens if I change my major during my time at FSU?

We encourage you to find the career path that works for you. If you should change your major and remain a STEM, you can absolutely remain a Julius Scholar. If you decide to change and leave the STEM field, you would no longer be eligible for the Julius Scholars program.

I have applied for other Scholar programs at FSU. Should I still fill out the Julius Scholar application?

Absolutely! We encourage you to complete all applications to programs that fit your needs, and to participate in all selection processes until candidacy decisions are made and, if necessary, you are asked to decide which program you will join.
