Project Description

Our team developed an interactive virtual toolkit (Campus Connections; https://campusconnectionsproject.org/) designed for counseling center staff members at community colleges to learn about how to support the well-being of autistic college students. We have two opportunities available, both related to Campus Connections.

Prior to developing Campus Connections, we interviewed autistic college students and counseling center staff members to learn about their experiences. We are now conducting a qualitative analysis of these interviews. UROP students will gain experience by reviewing each interview transcript, assigning codes to relevant responses, and developing themes in collaboration with the research team.

The second opportunity is a systematic literature review examining professional development interventions that are designed to prepare university faculty and staff to support and accommodate college students with disabilities. Undergraduate researchers will gain experience in evidence synthesis by screening and coding research articles, extracting study characteristics, and assisting with database searches to identify relevant literature.
