Project Description
The research project will entail two studies examining social behaviors in suicide and disordered eating. The first study is assessing and validating two behavioral tasks for use in suicide research and involves in-person study visits with participants with and without suicidality. The second study is assessing social behaviors and tendencies among individuals with and without current and past eating disorders; this study entails Zoom study visits in which participants undergo a clinical interview and answer self-report questions.Research Tasks: Research Assistants can work on one or both studies, depending on personal preference and project needs. Both will provide opportunities for data collection and interacting with participants, as well as data cleaning, input, and quality checking. Research Assistants will also gain training in conducting suicide risk assessments and will have the opportunity to assess participants’ suicide risk. Finally, Research Assistants will participate in at least biweekly team meetings and journal clubs to discuss ongoing project needs and other research ideas.
