Project Description
This project, conducted in partnership with the FAMU Developmental Research School, aims to accelerate foundational word-reading skills through targeted, small-group instruction using UFLI Foundations. We have collected pilot data from five second-grade students and will expand the project to include an additional 10–15 students over the next year. Over the next year we will be conducting UFLI Foundaitons and I-Ready Manetics on 10-15 4th grade students. Our immediate goal is to develop and publish a case study examining student growth, implementation, and the potential of UFLI Foundations and I-Ready Manetics to strengthen early reading proficiency.Research Tasks: - Literature review of UFLI and I-Ready Magnetics case studies for 2nd to 4th grade readers
- Data Analysis of preformance impact on 2nd and 4th graders reading scores given UFLI and I-Ready Magnertics intervention schedule.
- Writing of short paper (introduction, methods, results, conclusion) to appropriate teaching case study journal.
Skills that research assistant(s) may need: recommended : Excel, Zotero, Word, Microsoft Teams
