The Florida Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minorities Program In Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics was founded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Florida State University Chapter of the FGLSAMP program is part of a nationwide alliance that began in the fall of 1992. The program’s goal is to facilitate the entry of FGLSAMP Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) majors into graduate programs while increasing the production of minority graduates in the STEM areas.

Application deadline is at the beginning of each Fall semester.

FGLSAMP Requirements
And Areas of Concentration

GPA: 3.0 or greater
SAT: Minimum score of 1000
ACT: Minimum score of 21

You must be an active student matriculating in one of the following areas:

  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science/Computer Information Systems
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Engineering — Industrial, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical

You must be planning to attend graduate school for research (not a professional school, such as for Medicine, Dentistry, etc.)
