Student Innovation Celebration 2018

This year's Student Innovation Celebration will run from March 23rd to April 13th and offers twelve events showcasing the wide range of research and innovation initiatives being undertaken by undergraduate and graduate students here at Florida State.

 

March 23rd, 2018

TEDXFSU

2:00-6:00 pm, Turnbull Conference Center

TEDxFSU explores the ideas of FSU people: students, faculty, and alumni.  In one afternoon, TEDxFSU will spread FSU ideas from art, science, culture — and all the areas in between. TEDxFSU is student run and advance tickets are available for free.

2018 Art in STEM Exhibition

We invite all FSU faculty and students to come and celebrate the beauty of science presented by our own student researchers. The art pieces will be on display in Dirac Library and you can meet the creators of these pieces in person at the opening night event. Refreshments and soft drinks will be served.

18th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium

9:30 am - 4:15 pm, Oglesby Union Ballrooms

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is an annual showcase for undergraduate student researchers to present their work to the university community. The symposium is an interdisciplinary event that showcases research and creative activities from across campus. Hundreds of student researchers, including those from the FSU’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), present their work as poster presentations.

ACC Inventure Prize Finals

They’ve gone head to head on the field, and now the Atlantic Coast Conference’s best entrepreneurs battle it out Shark Tank-style. Each university has set out to find their very best students to compete against other ACC schools in the second annual ACC InVenture Prize innovation competition.

ACC Meeting of the Minds

Boston College

Undergraduate students across all 15 ACC universities are involved in a variety of projects that provide unique contributions to research and creativity across a broad spectrum of fields. The annual ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference has become an opportunity for universities in the ACC to highlight the diversity of scholarly engagements undertaken by undergraduates and for students to share their work with peers across the ACC.

DIGITECH features dozens of interactive, innovative student and department exhibits: robots, apps, artistic creations, engineering wonders, tech start-ups, all types of innovations. Participating students compete for the coveted crystal DIGITECH trophies. Creative digital music performances, $1000 Shark Tank business pitch competition, T-shirt and prize give-aways for all! A special Innovation Hub Grand Opening reception will take place at 4:00pm.

FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Design Day and 3rd Annual Shark Tank Competition

Come join us for this year's Engineering Design Day. Be amazed by this showcase of innovative, creative, and multi-disciplinary projects developed by our graduating senior students. Each team, made up of students from among five different departments, will present their academic capstone design projects simulating real world experiences. The 3rd Annual Shark Tank is a business pitch competition for technology innovations with prizes of up to $1200.

Psychology Annual Undergraduate Research Day- Hosted by Psi Chi

10am-1pm, 

This event provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to present and discuss outstanding research including  Honors Thesis projects, highly involved DIS work, and outstanding course lab projects. It will include a poster session and the Howard D. Baker Undergraduate Research Talks and Awards Ceremony. The event will feature food and drink.

The 2018 Excellence in the Visual Arts Awards Exhibition

3:30-5:30pm, Honors, Scholars, and Fellows house

Join us to celebrate the undergraduate and graduate Excellence in the Visual Arts Awards. Exhibition works will find their home during the 2018-2019 academic school year at the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House. During the reception you will have the opportunity to vote on your favorite piece of artwork for the $250 People's Choice Award.
